Doing Nothing = More Productive?

Hi There,

Do you work super hard, maybe even non-stop,

trying to push through your work,

but end up getting bad results, being exhausted, and feeling unproductive?

Don’t worry!

after reading this email, you’ll know how doing absolutely nothing,

can solve all these issues.

Seriously, I’m not even kidding!

Take a look at this visual:

It highlights a common problem:

We often wait too long to take a break.

Now, I know the answer might seem obvious,

‘just take a break when you’re tired’

and while that’s true, most of us wait until we’re totally wiped out.

For example, if you’re working on some kind of project or task,

you might be at 100% energy first, feeling like a productivity superhero.

But as you keep going, your energy drops, until you end up feeling like a deflated balloon.

Now here’s the part where most people mess up:

when they’re getting close to finishing the task,

they’re left with little energy, but still push through.

You may ask:

‘How is that a bad thing? it’s better to just get it over with!’

Well, if that’s how you work, you need to stop immediately!

Not only will you end up exhausted, and need to rest for longer,

but you will also get worse results!

‘Why?’

Because, just like a phone that’s about to die, we perform worse when we’re drained.

We make more mistakes, lose focus, and feel more stressed.

Now instead, imagine you are well rested, motivated, working at 75%-100% energy:

  • You stay more focused,

  • Feel less stressed,

  • Produce higher quality work!

So the next time you feel your energy dipping, take a short break.

Stretch, take a walk, or just relax for a few minutes.

Your productivity and well-being will thank you!

Cheers Loes
